My entries and thoughts on announcements
Birth announcements etiquette dictates that formal announcements be sent to family and friends by regular mail, not email. After all, who wants to hang an email message on their refrigerator. Be sure to send your birth announcements to family and close friends and friends of the grandparents and to anyone who has already sent you a gift. The information on birth announcements should include, at minimum, the names of the baby and proud parents and siblings (if any) and baby birth statistics like length, weight and birth date. Birth announcements etiquette also dictates that they be sent any time up to six months after the birth, so you will have time after the baby arrives to finalize and send them out.
